Raste Mein Sham Ka Muqaddar Hona

us ke lahje men shaam ho rahi thi

aur raste raston ko chhodte hue

kisi aur raste par ja rahe the

us ka badan khud se alag hone ke liye

apne hi badan se puchh raha tha

kunvare rahne ki tapasya akarat gai

kisi chahne vaale ko

us ne ek bosa bhi nahin diya

us ki mitti ne kisi aur mitti ko chhua hi nahin

shariat ki amariyyat ko

khud us ne hi davat di thi

varna khuda se kisi ghalat ko

ghalat chhune ki baat to kabhi hui hi nahin thi

aur koi ham se bhuul ke

hamari akhiri khvahish bhi na puchhe

aisa to kabhi hua hi nahin

Dubte hue jahaz men bhagne vaale

akhiri chuhe ko bhi to

kisi ne bhi nahin dekha

sivae us ke ki

Dubone vaale paani ne

khud ko dekha

ya Dubne vaale ko dekha

mohabbat jin rangon se

bani hui kahani thi

us ke kisi bhi kirdar ko

is ne kabhi bhule se bhi paas na aane diya

ek thanDi jamid bisat par daudti hui

mayusi ko

parinda banne ki khvahish to zarur rahi hogi

magar kya koi ye dekh sakta hai ki

kisi botal se kaag arne ke manzar men

botal ke batin par kya guzarti hai

kisi ghalat munh se nikle hue lafz se

zindagi ki ab-o-hava par kya guzarti hai

duniya men hone vaale kisi bhi zulm ne

bas misal hi to qaaem ki

ek tarikh hi to banai

haath men uthae hue ek patthar se

an-ginat hathiyaron tak

darmiyan men

zamane to an-ginat rahe honge

ya tarikh to ek hi thi

kisi ghalat ko sahi men badalne ki khvahish

duniya ka nizam badal sakti to

aaj tak ham ghalat khvab

na dekh rahe hote

phir ye azaab kya hai ki

ham ek puuri zindagi

ghalat khvabon ke havale karte hue

khud khvab ho jaaen

ye aur baat ki

pur-asrar ghaib men

yaqin na rakhne vaale ko bhi

kisi bhi ghaib se

kuchh paane ya madad lene ki

khvahish to hoti hai

aur khvahish ka kya hai

khvahish agar zamin par rengne vaali

chyunti bhi ho to

vo hathi ko halak kar sakti hai

ek chyunti hathi ko

is liye halak kar deti hai ki

use is ke sar tak

pahanne ki raah ka gyaan

aadmi se kahin zyada hota hai

afsos ki chyunti se zyada

gyaan vaala aadmi to

zamin par paida hi nahin hua

afsos pahad ki chadhai chadhne

aur unchi chotiyon ko

sar karne valon men se

koi ek bhi aisa nahin hua

jo pahle zindagi naam ke hathi ke sarki

chadhai chadhta ya is ke sar ko

sar kar chuka hota

aadmi ne ghar banaya

is men rahne ke liye

magar vo us men kabhi raha is liye nahin ki

ru-e-zamin par

kisi bhi ghar ka batin nahin ban saka

ek puuri duniya ka zahir to

hamari nazar men rakh diya gaya

magar batin se bani hui

koi duniya to bani hi nahin

to ham kya dekhte

ya dikhane valon se ham kya kahte

ya is se kya kahte

jis ke lahje men shaam hone se pahle

din ki raushni ki

koi bisat to rahi hogi

palat ke kuchh dekhne ki ada bhi

nahin maalum thi

varna koi kah sakta hai ki

use asbab se bhari hui duniya se

kuchh mayassar aaya

nahin kuchh bhi to nahin

ya jo duniya

asbab se bhari hui dikhai gai

vo khud apni jagah thi bhi ya nahin

aur is ki koi bhi shai

apni jagah thi bhi ya nahin
